Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Metro RESA GaTAPP Program.  We are currently accepting applications for those who are not employed (but who wish to be pre-approved for the program) AND individuals who are currently employed as a classroom teacher. 

Our program serves teachers in the following school districts: Atlanta Public Schools, Cobb County Schools, City of Decatur Schools, Dekalb County Schools, Douglas County Schools, Forsyth County Schools, Fulton County Schools, Gwinnett County Schools, Marietta City Schools, and Rockdale County Schools. We also partner with some private and parochial schools. Private schools must be regionally accredited, and you must have both an administrator and another teacher in your school who hold professional certification to serve on your team.  

We have several deadlines during this application window:

GaTAPP

1. If you are not currently employed, the deadline to apply for pre-approval is May 1, 2024. If pre-approved, you will receive an approval letter to share with potential employers in your application. However, you cannot continue in the program past the summer unless you obtain a contract to teach during the 2024-2025 school year. 

3. If you are teaching under a teaching contract and wish to begin the program in the summer of 2023, the deadline to apply is June 15, 2024.

ONE YEAR ELEMENTARY ADD-ON PROGRAM

This program is for those who have professional certification in another field who need to add Elementary Education to the certificate. Applicants must take and pass the Elementary GACE (001 & 002) and be teaching academic content in an elementary school. Application is open March 1, 2024, through August 1, 2024.

APPLICATION FEE

You will be required to pay a $75.00 application fee when submitting your application. This fee covers all administrative costs related to processing your application and is non-refundable. Please allow 30 days after submitting your application fee to inquire about your application as it may take that long for your application to be processed.
